Sending child molesters to rehabilitation centers is not solving the problem in them or to the child that they caused harm to. It is not fair that the victims have to live with a life-long series of behavioral, social and many more problems while the offender is sitting in a rehabilitation center or worse back out in society.

Some believe that sending the offenders to a Rehabilitation Center can be a way that they receive professional treatment. Society punishes for a bad act without thinking of ways to prevent them from happening again. Some people think that sending a child molester to a rehabilitation center means that they are forgiving them for their crime and letting them go free. Rehabilitation for offenders seems to be a smarter decision rather than just punishing them.

Child sex offenders receive a very lenient prison sentence or not even one at all.  Child molesters should receive a harsher punishment because they are causing so much damage to their victims. Many people have gotten away with molesting many children. Most of the child molesters should be sentenced to a life in prison without parole. One of the problems of trying to convict a child molester is that it’s very difficult to even prove a child sexual abuse case. In court, a child can feel confused, frightened, and intimidated which can make the process very stressful.

I believe that the most effective way to decrease child abuse from occuring is to decrease or eliminate the possibilities of someone being able to cause harm to a child. Anyone that has been a past offender or possible offender should not have uncontrolled or unsupervised access to a vulnerable child or to any child. Child molestors should not be allowed to live in a society that has children in it, but unfortunately that is not the case because there are already many living there.
